RESULTS

>Well done to everyone that took part in the Frostbite League races throughout the 2012/2013 season - we finished in 5th place overall.

>Joe Howells, Megan Ellison and Cameron Everist were selected to represent Lincolnshire at cross country and Beth Howells was a reserve.

>Many of you have been running in school cross country races recently – so keep up the hard work.

TRAINING

Training continues to be very well attended and soon we will be venturing outside to use the javelins, discus, hurdles, shots, Long and triple jump pit and a larger area of the field, now that the evenings are getting lighter. After Easter you must be prepared to be outside, with warm clothing, wet weather jacket plus a drink as we shall no longer be able to use the sportshall. We will be taking a break for the Easter hols so no sessions will be held on Fri 29th Mar, Fri 5 Apr or Fri 12 Apr as the school will be closed.

OTHER NEWS

1. Athletes competing for us in track and field events will need to wear a club vest - £14. We still have lots of t-shirts if you would like one (£8  which you can wear to train in, at fun run events such as Thurlby, Langtoft and Grimsthorpe.  

2. MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE DUE FOR RENEWAL BY EVERYONE - £25 PER JUNIORS, £30 FOR SENIORS. THIS PAYS FOR ENGLAND ATHLETIC MEMBERSHIP AND FREE TRAINING – CHEQUES OR CASH TO BOURNE TOWN HARRIERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE.

If you are not a club member (you currently pay £1 per week) – why not join then you can take part in Lincs League races, road races and our club track and field event in the summer? Membership forms can be found on www.bournetownharriers.org or ask Lisa/Louise/Judith for a form at training.

Fri 19th Apr – Junior training resumes OUTSIDE!!!!!

Sun 21 Apr – 1st track and field match at Lincoln  

Sat and sun 27/28 Apr – Coaching assistant course at Bourne Academy School

Sun 19 May – 2nd Track and field match at Grantham

Sun 16 Jun – 3rd Track and field match at Grantham

Sun 21 July – 4th Track and field match at Lincoln

Sun 1 Sep – 5th Track and field match at Grantham

Mon 26 August Bank Holiday – Grimsthorpe 10k and 3k funrun – to be confirmed

Langtoft, Thurlby and Peterborough 3k series dates yet to be confirmed.

FINALLY….

Please remember that all the volunteers at our club should be treated with respect. Athlete’s good behaviour is expected and this is important for health and safety and the enjoyment of other athletes. AND THE COACHES SANITY!!!!
